Search software company Copernic has unveiled a new personal search portal, myCopernic, to provide mobility and accessibility of personal data.

According to Copernic, the personal search portal consolidates information stored in different sources to create the user personal data hive and allows querying number of these sources. It offers a single point of access to multiple search solutions through web portals.

The company also released the myCopernic on the Go!, a service available from the myCopernic personal search portal. Based on Copernic Mobile, it offers a system to search and access required information, using internet enabled devices.

Reportedly, the new myCopernic on the Go! enables the user to find, preview and download the desired file, email, attachment, calendar item, and picture. It uses the desktop search tools’ index to provide the path to the documents, using a search option.

The company said that every communication between the client PC and the remote device is encrypted and no data is ever copied to a server. Access can only be achieved if the myCopernic connector, a small software application installed on the client computer, is enabled with the user credentials and by logging into the web portal.

Dennis Dion, vice president of sales and marketing at Copernic, said: “Professionals that are often away from their office will find this tool very handy as they will be able to concentrate on their clients without having to worry about copying data from their PC to another device. Everything can be easily found and accessed remotely from a laptop, PC, iPhone, Blackberry or any other mobile device equipped with Internet access.
