Sharp Corp formed Sharp Flat Display Manufacturing Co to build the first high volume plant in the US for LCD displays at Camas, Washington. It will invest $14m in the first phase, $16m in the seond, it plans to open the plant at the end of the year and employ 250 by 1993.
