With their minds unbefuddled by drink, Utans are better placed than most to dream up bright ideas, and Provo, Utah-based SolNetics Corp has come up with the Executive LapMate, a $90 solar-powered recharger for laptop computers: according to Microbytes Daily, the 4 by 12 solar panel produces about 100mA of current, enough to trickle into the laptop when it’s in use and give about an extra hour of operation; it will also recharge the batteries in about 12 hours for those that work and play by night and sleep by day; the company is working on a higher current version that will actually power a laptop.
