At the weekend, the Emmys took over Hollywood, and the red carpet outfits were scrutinised, applauded and compared. As usual, fashion magazines wanted to know who they were wearing and judged them accordingly. So, what happens when their answer is ‘Tonight I’m rocking Google on the red carpet’? Well Kunal Nayyar, the loveable Raj from The Big Bang Theory, did just that.
While everyone else was showing off their Tom Ford suits and Vera Wang gowns, Nayyar’s accessory stole the show.
The Google Glass headset, especially in white that Nayyar was sporting, looks almost robotic and very futuristic. Google want them to be the next big thing, but they just look like a gimmick. Wearable technology can fit in nicely with our lives and looks, such as the Samsung Gear smartwatch, which doesn’t look too imposing or technical. Google Glass stands out and is immediately recognisable.
If this is what Google was going for, then they definitely have a noticeable piece of tech gear. However they claim they want Google Glass to be released into the mainstream, becoming as popular and everyday as smartphones.
Do you think Google Glass is an accessory we can all adopt without looking like the cast of Star Trek? Check out the picture of Kunal Nayyar at the Emmys below and decide for yourself: can Google Glass make this look work for everyone?
