British Telecommunications Plc and MCI Communications Corp still have many regulatory hurdles to negotiate before they are at liberty to complete their far-reaching alliance, but they have started moving staff into their new joint venture, which they have temporarily dubbed NewCo: Chris Earnshaw, previously BT’s managing director of worldwide networks is chief executive of the start-up and has picked Tom Robotham, BT’s network services development manager for the head tecchie post of senior vice-president designate of product development engineering and MCI has moved in Kathleen Flaherty to be NewCo’s senior vice-president of worldwide sales and marketing.
