Reuters Holdings Plc launched two new terminal options enabling users to mesh Reuters data with their own personal computer functions and to distribute Reuter services over their own personal computer network: Reuter Terminal Powerplus is an upgraded version of the existing Reuter Terminal, enabling users to feed their own personal computers with real-time market information, and add their own files and programs to analyse price movements and identify trading opportunities; and the Networked Reuter Terminal has the same functions as Powerplus but also enables Reuter products to be distributed over the client’s own local area network, removing the need for individual communications lines to each Reuter terminal; the facilities have been available to networked Unix users for some time.
