Application performance management software and services supplier Programart Corp of Cambridge, Massachusetts, has announced its APMPower Application Performance Analysis System. This enables the interactive analysis of the performance of IBM Corp MVS applications on OS/2 workstations, working in cooperation with Programart’s Strobe Application Performance Measurement System. Strobe collects performance management data, which is downloaded from the mainframe to the micro. Armpower then displays it in graphs and histograms, with step-by-step guidance provided for beginners to help them grasp and diagnose performance issues. Armpower uses IBM’s Common User Access principles to present information in graphical user interface and is intended to be used by designers, developers, QA specialists and technical support staff for management and analysis purposes; when installed on a local area network, the system can also be used to share information such as reports. Armpower is available immediately. Prices for the MVS compo-nent of the product go from $3,500 to $18,500. The OS/2 component costs between $160 and $2,000 depending on the number of users.
