Back home in Japan, Fujitsu Ltd has released a high volume PABX, the E-3100 series ISS, E-2500 series DMIX multiplexers and E-2300 series Compact multiplexers. The new models respond to market demands for downsizing in corporate communications, and new compression technology contributes to greatly reduced communications costs. The multiplexers connect to the PABXes of other manufacturers. The E-3100 series PABX can compress speech and facsimile transmission to 16Kbps and supports four lines of conversation on one 64Kbps ISDN line. Fujitsu expects to sell 3,000 units over the next three years, at price starting from $48,800 for a unit with 100 internal lines and 15 outside lines.
