AT&T Co will direct a technical trial of ISDN-based consumer video services, starting later this month and running six to nine months: it will involve 100 pairs of participants in Arizona, Colorado and New Jersey – 100 US West Inc residential customers will be connected with 100 Bell Atlantic Corp customers -, and AT&T will provide participants with prototype ISDN video telephones that will transmit two-way, full-motion colour video images and sound over local and long-distance lines upgraded for ISDN services; the trial will explore signalling and other operational capabilities that must be developed to provide ISDN-based video consumer services.
