Cordys revs Business Operations Platform

Business process management firm Cordys has launched a new version of its Business Operations Platform, BOP-4.

By Jason Stamper

The firm, co-founded by Jan Baan of Baan Software fame, said it has made a number of improvements. These include continuous process improvement; a collaborative workspace with improved Web 2.0 features and a set of tools that enables organisations to mix and match existing on-premise processes that run on enterprise software, with components and applications made available over the Web.

The firm said existing customers include SOS International, U.S. Xpress and Tata Motors. The Cordys Business Operations Platform can be delivered in a web-based SaaS solution, on-premise or in a hybrid model, Cordys claims.

Jan Baan, CEO and Chairman, said: “The Cordys Business Operations Platform is the ideal solution for businesses looking to leverage existing investments in enterprise software and legacy systems. The Cordys solution allows you to isolate existing IT assets, build new processes on top of that, and continuously monitor the entire enterprise.”

Cordys said version 4 of the platform increases the speed at which companies can adapt to changing market conditions; creates a single view of a business for management purposes; provides businesses with the ability to continuously design, execute, monitor, change and maximise business processes and can even help companies speeding up product lifecycles and time-to-market.

“There is little doubt that the Cordys BOP is both a useful solution and extends the inter-relationship between BPM and SOA in a manner that many organisations will find useful,” analyst firm Butler Group said in a prepared statement. “The inclusion of MDM is a powerful factor within the solution as is the extensive focus on PaaS and Cloud implementation.”
