DEC and Tyngsboro, Massachusetts-based LaserData now have LaserView Express, which they describe as low-cost MS-DOS client software for DECimage EXpress, DEC’s VAX-based imaging platform. LaserView Express, an MS-Windows compatible package, enables industry-standard personal computers to access, retrieve and display images stored in DECimage EXpress as well as store and print images locally. In addition, images may be exported to the Windows Clipboard for integration with standard Windows applications, such as word processing and E-mail. Through a distribution agreement with DEC, LaserView Express is available through DECdirect at a price of $595. Also available through DEC as an option is LaserData’s CorVette Display Subsystem, which features integrated image processing designed, as they say, for high-performance, high-resolution desktop display.
