Spain’s Amper SA is planning to sell its 49% stake in AT&T-Network Systems Espana, with many touting AT&T Network Systems International, the European telecommunications equipment arm of the US carrier which owns the remaining 51%, as the likely buyer: reports differ as to the reasons for the sale according to one story, Amper is looking for extra cash to meet restructuring costs, while Financieele Dagblad says that it wants to sell out because the company cannot meet the investment commitment to expand the venture to the extent AT&T Network Systems International desires.
