Sensing that the UK price war may have run its course, direct sales personal computer manufacturer Elonex Plc, London N is raising the prices of some of its personal computers and workstations by some ?100 but cutting the price of its EISA systems by ?250: it says the increases will restore prices to the level that applied in the summer – before the downfloat of sterling; its new notebooks, which will ship this month, are also to go up by ?200 though orders taken between the mid-September launch and end of October will not be affected; it will retain its ?30-per-megabyte charge for RAM for the time being though it is halving the price of the 4Mb option on 2Mb 80486SX desktop computers to ?30.
