Texas Instruments Inc has been demonstrating its new imaging technology for projecting live video at the Third Annual High Definition Systems Conference in Washington DC, Reuter reports: the digital projection display system, based on a digital micromirror device, is claimed to offer the potential for higher definition compared with other projection display systems on the market that use more traditional technology; the mirror is a micromechnical spatial light modulator which Texas Instruments developed under a Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency contract, and is a promising device for use in affordable high definition television projection systems – if you happen to have an unadorned white wall handy to project on.
