AT&T Co will wait to see the result of the British General Election before making any firm decision about taking a stake in Cable & Wireless Plc’s Mercury Communications Ltd, the Financial Times believes: the Cables share price had been bubbling on gossip that AT&T would launch a bid for the entire group, but that seems very unlikely; talk is now of a $1,000m investment for 25% to 30% of Mercury.
