NCR Corp is facing a demand for $2m damages from the Cleveland Electric Illuminating Co after supplying a computer-aided dispatch system that Cleveland describes as unreliable and inadequate: the system runs on NCR’s V and I machines and is used by the police, fire and emergency services; Computer System News says that this is not the only complaint NCR has received, and it claims that the company has settled several suits out of court on a non-disclosure basis; NCR Corp no longer markets the system but continues to offer support services.
