IBM UK has informed its mainframe software customers that it is increasing software prices by between 5% and 10% (CI No 1,950), somewhat negating the benefits of the recently announced MOSP, Multiple Operating System charge option for PR/SM. New orders for program packages and licensed programs are going up by 7% from July 1, existing agreements will increase from October 1, but 10 licensed programs are to go up by 9%. A number of packages are unaffected and they include those announced after January 1992. Information Network agreements will jump by 6% from July 1, October 1 for existing agreements, and maintenance, service and repair products are to rise by 5% from January 1. Maintenance charges that remain unchanged include those for all models announced after May 13, 1992, 9121 ES/9000s, and several RS/6000 systems.
