San Jose, California-based StrataCom Inc has announced a upgrade to its StrataView Plus environment which manages StrataCom IPX Fast Packet private networks and IPX-based public Frame Relay networks. It is being pitched at public carriers using the IPX networking switch, and current users include AT&T Co, British Telecommunications Plc, CompuServe Inc, and Telecom Finland. WilTel Corp is the first user to announce that it will be incorporating the upgrade. Enhancements include user-configurable graphic and text reports, real-time updating of information in a structured database format, multiple concurrent access via X-terminals, emergency back-up configuration storage and the addition of the DECStation 5000/25 as an alternative workstation. It will cost $8,000 for networks of eight nodes or more, $20,000 for new users, with a nominal upgrade fee and new-user price of $10,000 for networks with fewer than eight nodes.
