Amstrad Plc announced yesterday that it had thrown in the towel on its troubled Amstrad Espana SA subsidiary and that the company had ceased trading. An independent distributor will represent its range of products in the Spanish market. Amstrad bought the unit in 1987, writing off UKP25m of goodwill.
