The Visual and Broadcast Services division of British Telecommunications Plc has reserved an option for five 36MHz, C-band transponders on AsiaSat 2, which is due for launch in late 1994: the bird is planned to be fully operational by March 1995 and have a footprint covering most of Asia and the Pacific basin.
