Racal Electronics Plc reports two orders, together worth over UKP15m, for high definition colour monitors for NATO AWACS aircraft and frigates of Britain’s Royal Navy: colour monitors, fully-qualified for NATO airborne applications, have been ordered by Hazeltine Corp of New York for use in NATO Airborne Warning And Command System aircraft as part of a major AWACS upgrade programme under the lead contractorship of Boeing Co; Racal has already supplied the screens for AWACS aircraft operated by the Royal Air Force and the French Air Force, and expects that future sales of AWACS will use the Racal monitors, which are now the accepted standard for this application.
