Unix communications software developer Unipalm Ltd, based in Cambridge, here in the UK, is shipping version 2.2 of its PC/TCP for personal computes running MS-DOS and Windows. This is designed to enable personal computer users to access network resources such as printers and remote file systems via PC/TCPNET. It also provides portable users with better and faster access to systems and introduces international character sets, the company claims. The new version supports the Windows Sockets Application Programming Interface version 1.1, enabling MS-Windows network applications to run unmodified over compliant protocol stacks. Version 2.2 costs UKP350; existing users of previous versions can upgrade for UKP100.
