Commenting on its soaraway figures (see page five) Advanced Micro Devices Inc says that sales of Am386 products grew more than 20% over the immediate-prior quarter to more than $180m 15 times last year’scomparable sales; unit shipments continued their sharp ramp, exceeding 2m units – more than the total for all of last year; the newly announced 33MHz Am386SX product followed the earlier success of the 25MHz version as the new standard for entry-level computing.
