Compaq Computer Corp accompanied launch of its 50MHz 80486-based Deskpro with price cuts of 4% to 11% on some of its top-selling models: 80386SX-based models were cut by $100 to $300, and the company sliced $1,100 to $1,200 off the price of the machines built around the 33MHz version of the 80486; Systempro memory was cut by 26%.
