DEC is claiming a victory over Novell Inc – Cable & Wireless BCA is to extend its network from local to wide area, using DEC’s Pathworks, instead of NetWare 2.1 which it already has installed; Cable & Wireless wanted to upgrade from an inter-office to an international system and DEC says the decision to choose Pathworks over NetWare demonstrates our ability to meet such requirements: Pathworks is based on Microsoft Corp’s LAN Manager, and implements DEC’s Personal Computing Systems Architecture.
