Crowley Maritime Corp has purchased an EX 420 mainframe from Hitachi Data Systems and installed the machine at its main data processing centre in San Francisco, California: the system provides 512Mb of central storage and 256Mb of expanded storage in addition to 64 communication channels; the system will process business applications.
