Madge Networks Inc cut suggested list prices on its full line of adaptor boards by more than 20% so the Smart 16/4 AT Ringnode was cut to $17,850 from $22,350 for a 30-pack; the Smart 16/4 Pocket Ringnode/UTP, single, is cut to $715 from $895, but says the price cuts won’t hurt its gross profit margins because it also reduced the discount from list price that it gives to its distributors so that distributors won’t see any change in price when buying the products; the list price reduction was made because some comparison evaluations by trade magazines are made based on list, and not on street, prices.
