Maxim Integrated Products, a manufacturer of semiconductor products, has introduced the Max15027–Max15030, a new family of low-dropout (LDO) linear regulators that reportedly operate from a 1.425V to 3.6V input voltage to offer upto 1A (Max15027/Max15028) or 500mA (Max15029/Max15030) of output current.

The company says that the Max15028/Max15030 feature a bias input that allows the devices to be powered from an independent supply, making them suitable for ‘always-on power’ supplies in automotive applications.

Maxim claims that the bias input allows the regulator’s input to reduce current to 2µA during shutdown. This new family LDO regulators are suitable for an array of applications, including networking, storage, server, and telecom equipment.

The company said that the new family LDO regulators offer performance with ±2% accuracy over line, load, and temperature, as well as a dropout voltage up to 75mV (Max15027/Max15028) or 40mV (Max15029/Max15030) under a full load.

Other features include a capacitor-adjustable soft-start input, an enable input, and an adjustable feedback input to set the output voltage from 0.5V to 3.3V.
