And Fujitsu has developed Japan’s first Regional Intelligent Building system, and has installed it in the offices of the Kyoto Research Park, where the system is designed to manage the lighting, electric power, telephone, data and video communications services and emergency monitoring efficiently for a total of five building in the Park: the core of the system is a Facom M760/4 mainframe running an information management system that handles tenant information, identity card management, reservation of meeting rooms and such; a Fetex-3700 PABX running the telephone, voice mail, facsimile and ISDN services; and a real time building monitoring system on an FX-DX looking after air conditioning, lighting, security and energy; Kyoto Research Park is a privately run incubator for venture capital-funded start-ups and research institutions; completed last month, it is sponsored by Osaka Gas, and an initial 30 tenants have signed for 450,000 square feet.
