Far too many subscribers received their Computergrams late in the latter part of 1986, but with the help of the Post Office, we have taken several steps that should ensure that most subscribers receive their copy on the morning of publication this year – but anyone inclined to knock the Post Office should try a spell in Italy: there, we hear, it takes a letter up to 14 days to reach Rome from Sicily, and even Turin to Milan can take eight days; but, reports the International Herald Tribune, the authorities are doing something about it – they’ve added a new service that guarantees next-day delivery – for a little matter of UKP10 per item.
