Composite Software, a provider of data virtualisation offerings, has introduced the new version of Information Server Data Virtualisation Platform that includes capabilities from upfront data discovery and modeling to ongoing operations monitoring.

The company said that the new data virtualisation platform enables global enterprises to develop and implement data federation, data warehouse extension, enterprise data sharing, real-time and cloud computing data integration.

According to Composite Software, the new offering incorporates Discovery 2.0, an enterprise data entity and relationship discovery tool used for preparing data models and performing intelligent queries that is integrated with Information Server.

The new platform includes Application Data Services for Oracle Essbas, a new intelligent adapter that allows SQL developers to simplify access to MDX source data; and the embeded Composite Monitor, a new management console with GUIs to monitor activities across the Data Virtualisation Platform environments.

In addition, the Information Server Data Virtualisation Platform incorporates Information Server that adds support of NTLM and Novell E-directory security authentication enhancements and a number of new optimisation algorithms. Composite Discovery 2.0 is now offered as a software option that is integrated with Information Server.
