DEC France saw net profits for the year to June 30 fall 7% to the equivalent of $11.1m on turnover up 20% to $1,344m. The French subsidiary’s managing director Michel Perreboeuf claimed that the growth in sales – largely due to successes in the workstation market, large networked systems, and the VAX 6000 and 9000 models – was almost two times greater than that experienced by the sector as a whole, and, together with the growth of the two previous years, meant that DEC France’s sales had increased by 65% since 1987. Perreboeuf also highlighted the fact that DEC investment in France over the last two years had now reached around $200m.
