Ever-hungry Cap Gemini Sogeti SA has reached agreement to acquire 80% of Industrie et Technologie de la Machine Intelligente SA, ITMI. The target company, founded in 1982 and based in Grenoble, specialises in machine vision systems, robotics and art-ificial intelligence. ITMI, with 75 engineers, did about $3.2m last year, and is forecasting substant-ially higher sales this year. The 20% minority will be held 4.5% each by Hewlett-Packard Co and Westinghouse Electric Co, with staff holding the other 11%. Cap Gemini cites the move as an earnest of its aim to grow fast in artificial intelligence.
