Lotus Development Corp is expected next week to come out with a stop-gap to 1-2-3 Release 3 with a 2.2 release that will have fewer features of the heavily-delayed version but will be designed to meet the needs of users who do not have fast enough personal computers to run 3.0 anyway: improvements are promised in the appearance of graphs and charts, speed of recalculation when few variables are changed, and there will be an undo facility to enable mistakes to be corrected; some analysts however reckon that users will become confused when there are two current releases out.
