AST Research Inc, Irvine, California is already cutting prices on its 80486-based machines – but they are pretty expensive to start with: the Premium 486/25TE with 1Gb disk falls 5% to $18,245; the same thing with a 25MHz CPU is off 10% at $16,200; the 33MHz 80486 model with 115Mb disk is off 1.7% at $11,300.
