Savvis has signed a three year managed IT services agreement with Ricoh Americas to host DocumentMall, its Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) document management system.

Reportedly, Ricoh’s Document Solutions & Services Division (DSSD) has chosen Savvis to strengthen DocumentMall’s on-demand service offerings to its small and mid-sized enterprise customers. The DocumentMall SaaS service enables customers to store, retrieve, manage and share electronic files and scanned paper documents using the internet.

Savvis said that the DocumentMall is hosted in its Piscatway, New Jersey data centre featuring facilities for power management, heating/ventilation/air conditioning, fire suppression and seismic engineering. DocumentMall is integrated with the company’s Tier 1 MPLS network and hosting footprint of 28 data centres globally.

In addition, Savvis datacentre provides physical measures to protect customers’ IT infrastructure, including an annual Type II SAS 70 examination, Savvis said.

Bryan Doerr, chief technology officer of Savvis, said: “Our SaaS hosting platform, built on our existing global IT services platform, enables customers like Ricoh to outsource their SaaS IT infrastructure with confidence, allowing them to focus on their core business.”

Hede Nonaka, executive vice president of Ricoh, said: “Upgrading the hosting of DocumentMall to Savvis’ SAS 70 certified, state-of-the-art facility reaffirms Ricoh’s commitment to offering a safe and secure environment for its customers’ documents.”
