NEC Electronics has unveiled CubeSuite, a new Integrated Development Environment (IDE) platform that combines all the tools required to develop applications for NEC Electronics’ 8- through 32-bit All Flash microcontrollers into a single platform.

The new platform integrates features and tools required for application software development, such as a code generator, compiler and assembler, debugger, and flash programmer. The platform reportedly supports the entire manufacturing process from design, debug to flash-writing deployment, offering support for systems development.

The new platform provides a user interface to enable visceral control and features that allow designers to customise their own icons and window layouts to suit their preferences. It also includes a back-up feature that is expected to save and restore tools and projects collectively.

The new platform’s design tools are developed to support layout design for multipurpose pins and the GUI-based code generator to help develop peripheral device drivers.
