Austin-based Versata Software has won a patent lawsuit against business software provider SAP America and its German-based parent company SAP AG, relating to the pricing technology.
Following a seven-day trial, a jury of the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, Marshall division, awarded $138m in damages to Versata after finding that SAP infringed upon two Versata software product patents used to organise multi-level pricing tables.

The jury found that SAP infringed on US patent no. 6,553,350 B2, issued in 2003, and US patent no. 5,878,400, issued in 1999 by selling and distributing SAP’s CRM and ERP platforms.
Versata also said that it intends to seek a permanent injunction preventing any further infringing activities by SAP, including the sale or distribution of the technology.
