UK law firm Browne Jacobson has tightened up its data security with PGP Universal Gateway Email.

Using the PGP software, the law firm can encrypt sensitive data sent to clients in email. Gateway-to-gateway encryption ensures secure email communications with clients. Using PGP Universal Web Messenger also enables the company to encrypt emails with larger groups of customers, partners or even experts and witnesses in specific cases.

Browne Jacobson was motivated to act, not just by the growing number of UK data breaches, but also because one of its customers, University Hospitals of Leicester, requested secure transmission of information with all its third parties.

A side benefit of the PGP security implementation is that it fits the law firm’s requirements to comply with the voluntary ISO 27001 standard for information security management.
