Having teamed with Ameritech in its successful bid for Telecom Corp of New Zealand Ltd, Bell Atlantic Corp has chosen US West Inc as its partner on another successful bid – to form a joint venture company with the Czechoslovakian Ministry of Posts & Telecommunications to build and operate a cellular phone net and modernise the telephone system.
