Oracle has launched Oracle VM Template for its Siebel CRM 8.1.1. The new offering reportedly enables customers to benefit from server consolidation, support, and energy and space cost savings by using server virtualisation.

Oracle said that the Oracle VM Templates for Siebel CRM deliver a quick start for a virtualised Siebel CRM, Oracle Database and Oracle Enterprise Linux environment and brings customers’ minimum server requirements from four to one.

With the new template, a fully installed software environment for Siebel CRM can be up and running in less than three hours, by eliminating the need to separately install and setup the operating system, database and Siebel CRM applications, the company claims.

The company added that by using the template in an existing Siebel CRM environment, new instances of application modules, application servers and web servers can also be provisioned within minutes.

By helping to reduce the number of servers needed through deployment in a virtualised environment, Oracle VM Templates for Siebel CRM promote green computing and can cut costs on server purchases and maintenance, as well as energy use.

Oracle VM Templates for Siebel CRM can be downloaded once and used multiple times to set up new Siebel CRM environments.

Oracle VM Templates are designed to deploy a pre-installed, pre-configured software that is supported for production deployments. Oracle VM Templates are also available for Oracle Database, Oracle Enterprise Linux, Oracle Fusion Middleware and other Oracle products.
