The Cambridge-based Torus Group has spun off a new network hardware subsidiary following the success Torus Systems Ltd has had selling Torus Ethernet adaptors for both AT and Micro Channel buses. The new company, Torus Network Products, will start out manufacturing and selling these adaptors to Torus Systems (which will continue to sell them along with Tapestry) as well as to two distributors: the new MBS management buyout and Ideal Hardware. However, within the next few months Torus Network Products will also be launching a board for the Extended Industry Standard bus, a 16-bit card for the AT-bus as well as Twisted Pair and Token Ring products, all of which will be offered as OEM lines.
