With its IBM contract good for only one year, it sounds as if Seagate should get together with Century Data Systems Inc, Anaheim, California: according to Computer Systems News, Century has 35,000 square feet of vacant manufacturing space in Singapore for which it is seeking a temporary tenant while its CAST Century Advanced Storage Technology design house gets up to speed on a new generation of drives – Century does not expect to be occupying the full space at the Singapore plant until the end of 1988, Tandon ain’t interested, but if Seagate’s IBM pact is for only a year, Century seems to have the ideal answer for the brief contract.
