Tandon Computer Corp has had to cut US prices up to 25% on its XT- and AT-alikes and has upgraded three models of its PCX line with a serial card and dual video adaptor as standard, while the five PCA models will now feature serial-parallel capacity and 1Mb memory as standard, with a field upgrade programme and price protection for existing product in Tandon dealers’ inventory: the PCX-2 with twin floppies is now $900, the PCX-20 with 20Mb disk is $1,400, the PCA-1 with 1.2Mb floppy is $1,900, with 20Mb disk it’s $2,000 ( – only $100 to add a 20Mb disk? That’s what it says here), with a 40Mb disk it’s $3,000 and with 70Mb it’s $3,700.
