The developers of the GMicro family of microprocessors optimised for the Tron operating system want to market them in the US, but see little prospect for Tron sales there. Eastman Kodak Co’s Interactive Systems Corp, Santa Monica, California is therefore doing an implementation of its Unix System V.3 for the 32-bit microprocessor family, to be marketed separately by the three developers, Fujitsu Ltd, Hitachi Ltd and Mitsubishi Electric Corp. Interactive will have exclusive rights to market its own version of Unix for the new chips, having an early version for developers by the fourth quarter, offering development services, documentation and support and will work with the trio on an application binary interface.
