And faced with the threat of that kind of competition, Communications Satellite Corp, Comsat, is cutting charges for international leased line satellite services by up to 17% and extending the contracts: where a voice, data and video line previously cost $550 a month on a five-year contract, it will now cost $420 a month for seven years.
