Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire-based Revelation Technologies (UK) Ltd, developer of front-end database software, has joined Microsoft Corp’s SQL business partner programme to supply and bundle Microsoft’s SQL Server database management system. Revelation’s Clive Booth reckons the contract with Microsoft, which is being signed later this month, will give his small company tremendous credibility. Revelation Technologies, which signed the same contract with Microsoft in the US two months ago, has developed SQL Server Bond to link its Advanced Revelation product – a personal computer-based application development environment – with Microsoft’s SQL server (CI No 1,516). Booth claims that SQL Server Bond, one of a series of bonds to database servers being planned by Revelation, enables Advanced Revelation application developers to work independently of a specific SQL server environment, providing them with the ability to migrate to larger local area networks, mini and mainframe systems.
