Ashford, Middlesex based James Martin Associates yesterday gave Version 3 of the Information Engineering Facility, an integrated computer aided software engineering system for designing and producing large scale information systems its European launch: originally developed by Martin and Texas Instruments, whose primary need was to meet its own requirements for applications software, the new version features the Construction Toolset which generates all the code required for operational on-line application systems within IBM environments running CICS or IMS/DC and accessing IBM’s DB2 – the code generator for IMS or CICS costs UKP110,000, the DB2 generator costs UKP40,000 and entry level price for the IEF’s mainframe encyclopedia and five workstations, which was released in Europe in February last year, is unchanged at UKP120,000.
