SocketLabs has released new Email On-Demand API, which enables software developers and application integrators to pull real-time data from their cloud-based SocketLabs Email On-Demand account. It provides programmatic access to mailing data, from wide-angle statistics down to the individual message level.
According to SocketLabs, the Email On-Demand is an SMTP relay service that solves deliverability and administration issues common with ISP and in-house SMTP servers. The Email On-Demand service and the new API change provides the ability to outsource bulk email deliverability and administration, while providing real time feedback. With the new API, application developers can integrate real-time delivery events, such as failures, bounces and feedback loop reports into their own applications and databases.
The company claims that the outbound email generated by customer email applications can be tagged with user-defined data and campaign codes before being sent to the hosted SMTP server. The user-defined data is exposed by the SocketLabs Email On-Demand web based reporting system and paired with message data retrieved with the new API. It enables an application to get the status of an individual message or an entire campaign/mail blast.
John Alessi, president of SocketLabs, said: “SocketLabs is committed to providing the most innovative SMTP relay service on the planet. Our new API gives companies amazing new integration capabilities while they allow us to manage the challenges of sending their bulk email.”
