Datasure Ltd, the Southend-based computer systems subsidary of the C E Heath Insurance Broker group, has launched Brokasure/FS, an IBM AS/400 support system for financial consultants. The system is designed to help consultants in the areas of marketing, administration and fee-earning by providing comprehensive back-up information. Features of the system include the recording of client information, contract information, and perhaps most importantly for the consultants a facility that calculates commission earnings on a contract sale and even works out renewal commission forecasts. Office support includes a diary, mailshots and word processing. According to Datasure, which has been a AS/400 agent for some time, the machine was chosen for its advanced architecture, built-in relational database and easy down-loading of information from the database to the personal computer – the company recognised the popularity of Lotus Development Corp’s 1-2-3 spreadsheet in its target market. Brokasure/FS costs UKP3,000, and Datasure reckons it will pay for itself over four years.
